Home Information Packs?
May 27th, 2008    Subscribe To Our FeedHorse lovers, like so many other people are sometimes bitten by the moving bug and when that happens they sell their home and move on to a bigger and better property. When this happens in the UK there is a particular thing to pay attention to: Home Information Packs.
A home information pack or HIP as they are commonly known is a tool used by a lot of home owners when selling their properties. Essentially it is a set of documents containing all kind of legal info on the property that is for sale. In the UK this is all set out in laws and home owners wishing to put their house on the market are obliged to provide this HIP. Two kind of info is included in the pack: mandatory and authorized. Amongst the mandatory info are the Home Information Pack Index, Energy Performance Certificate, Local Authority and Drainage Searches, Sale Statement/Terms of Sale and the title documents for the property.
The owner can also disclose other information if he wishes so in the “authorised” part of the HIS.
If you want to know more about HIP’s visit the Home Information Pack - HIP site
