Queen Creek has been primarily a rural community and only now is slowly becoming a suburban community. Queen Creek is committed to preserving its rural flavor by building the Horseshoe Park and Equestrian Center. Still under construction, there will be stables and arenas for many equestrian programs and activities. Phase one of construction should be completed by the end of 2008. Most of the trails are multi-use but the Queen Creek and Sonoqui washes are reserved for equestrian use only. Desert Mountain Park also features horse staging area and wash trail access. Many of the road shoulders are also open to equestrian use.
